ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful chapter. oh, if you've watched it, the anime interpretation of this chapter (origination ep12) is also great, if not better -- all the reminiscing, the rain delay and the build-up of tension, and the added final course after the narrow waterway (alicia asks akari to choose where she wants to go, and she heads for Aria Company). congratulations, akari-chan!

I really feel this chapter does a good job crowning the end of the series, since the last chapters aren't climatic.
ReplyDeleteThough I'll always be a little disappointed that Aika's test and promotion were just implied and not actually shown.
If I remember correctly, Aika's run through the obstacle course was shown briefly during the opening credits of the anime. The interesting thing is that one can assume they all use this course as a test since it is not normally open. Therefore Akari ran with a handicap since her new gondola is significantly larger than Aika's. Sometimes it looks smaller in Amano-Sensei's drawings But the more detailed scenes in both the manga and anime clearly show Akari's new gondola to be longer. Around 3-5 feet if I remember right. It's probably slightly wider too.

By the way, text early in ch01 mentions "pokoten" so you don't even have to look at the graphic art to find out the perpetrator...
I wonder if these doujishin are english by nature or scanlated?

Dude, I'm being totally serious. Its there and its not hentai. I was quite surprised to find it actually. But ge hentai does have some non-H stuff on it too. I know that it seems like an April Fools Joke but it not. REALLY. I promise you that it isn't. I was just tryin to help out
