Ok, there are no JAPANESE raws lying around, or so we can easily find. However, the Chinese (AQUA workshop) scanlators definitely has a raw source, I'm thinking someone actaully buys the comic and uploads it for personal use (as in for the group).

With regards to the cover page, I think that compessed air bottle is way too large for the kind of appliacation you are probably thinking about!

It is said Comic Blade monthly is in big trouble right now with regards to falling subscription rates and slow street sales. We'll soon see the girls sleeping with the fishes and not in the mafia sense, if such a cover page can boost readership.
ReplyDeleteSorrowfully Amanchu has a lot more potential for abuse compared to Ariaqua and the publisher will demand whatever juice they can squeeze out of the girls per yen.
I think it's really a shame that Hikari stopped her lighthearted flirting with Futaba by the end of the first volume. She was likely just being friendly, but it was sweet nevertheless.

That being said, I wonder when will the COMPLETE Vol 11 be released?
vol.11 will take another week or two, the QC is a little busy at the moment, and I'd like to have things properly fixed before releasing.

Is she Pikari or Akari in the page 125 portrait? I would say she's Akari. Ms. Amano decided to apply some hair tape to remind us of Aria ep7.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, the flowers Ms. Mato saw are better known as "Hortensia" in Europe. What about the Americas? May this change for the HQ release?
Something else to note: there is a japanese sweet tea called "ama-cha" which is made from the Hydrangea serrata. Maybe this has something to do with Amanchu? Wikipedia says it's used to bathe Buddha statues.
There are strange possibilities in the Aria Living Dolls chapter. The ever-sad doll has an "akarish" hairstyle, visible especially at the bottom of page 9 and the top of page 13.
ReplyDeleteMaybe this signals the gentleman wants to communicate something sad for Akari. Maybe the man wanted to say Akari is not a human, but a doll herself (i.e. Blade Runner like android)? Akari finally mentions the box in her heart, could that be an "otome kairo"?
If Akari is truly a jinzo ningen, being an immigrant from Manhome is an optimal cover story for her, since few people of Aqua would be able to spot holes in her implanted false memories.
Being an android there is an explanation for her extreme strenght (warp speed backwards rowing and taking the fully loaded traghetto alone).
The big question is, how long will Akari last, does she expire like Priss and Batty? Maybe this is the explanation why undine generations change so often in Aria company? Maybe the androids need to be placed in semi-isolated environments, like the two-person Aria Company, so their behaviour is predictable?

Akari's able to growing etc that only apply to human being. That said, and if she is an android... who the hell was maintenanced her for the past 3 years?
It's kinda like some crazy idea of cross-over from YKK's fan.
Well, of course we don't know anything about the robots in YKK, so they might well be capable of growing. And they don't seem to require a lot of maintenance--as long as they don't get hit by lightning. But it's all indeed a bit contrived. Akira is supposed to deal with lots of people as an undine, so her environment is not isolated at all. There is also no mention of robots anywhere in Aria. People simply age much slower, which is feasible a few hundred years from now.

ReplyDeleteToday, Tuesday the 16th the hungarian Duna TV channel does Venice all the day, on the occasion of the Carnivale. In Europe it is on Hotbird6/8 sats.
ReplyDeleteUSA and down under is mostly out of luck, but Galaxy-19/25, NSS-806 and Optus-D2 sats carry some of it via Duna-II at 17:10, 22:20 and 04:55 next dawn (all times are CET, Central European Time).
My PVR gear broke down, so I won't see any of it 8-(
