Read Online - mangahelpers since they don't downsize but they do compress it. It's still horrible but better than the other online readers. Actually I don't know why I even gave this option since obviously anyone who visits here is downloading it like they should...

ReplyDeleteThe issue is they downsize and compress images so much that it makes my(editors) job pretty much pointless. I'm pretty much saying to the people who MUST use online readers for whatever reason to at least do it on mangahelpers since they don't downsize, and the "quality" is better than alternative sites.

probably another week(we hope), there are alot of fixes for vol.8 including re-doing the first 2 chapters(stagiones)

ReplyDeleteThis was one of my favorites in the series too. Though I like there more when Akira not just says that Akari is part of the circle of Aqua now, but she is more, became the center.
By the way, it's bugging me for a long time. I read a lot of times that Alicia likes booze, some even say she's alcoholic. But I never see her actually drink or being drunk. Can somebody give me a chapter or episode about this?

The is a 4-koma (2x2 layout mini-cartoon) added at the beginning of Aria volume 02 manga book, where Alicia is shown seated by a bench, with about half a dozen empty bottles by her side. Akari makes a joke about her conditon if I read it right.
ReplyDeleteIn the anime adaptation there is only one faint clue, when Woody delivers a package marked "foot massager for Alicia" and Akari wonders why she needs such a tool. The box probably contains the weekly supply of intoxicating liquors?
(Although it does make sense to get a foot massager if one does a lot of upstanding job like being a gondolier and Alicia is not exactly young either.)
It appears Alicia is in booze mode whenever she say "Ara ara", because a sane person would not say that?
Somewhere in the manga serialization Akira also made a comment about Alicia being able to hide her drink addiction very well.

ReplyDeleteI use "nahát nahát" for it. When I started subbing the anime I've debated for almost a day or two about how to translate it. This is the best I could come up with.
Ok, in th eonsen chapter she really worked down quite a few bottle booze, and even Akari mentioned later that Alicia is drunk :D

ReplyDeleteAs for Alicia getting drunk, just found this randomly: Aria volume 07, Navigation 31 scanlation, 31.png, look at the top left cell and check the background. Miss Easygoing has found her bottle once again.
ReplyDeleteWhat about live action Aria (for stage or TV)? The Sailor Moon adaptation has been quite successful.

ReplyDelete( Supposedly there is an 50,000 USD photocopier machine made by Fujitsu Co. (?) which does on-the-fly japanese to english "scanlations". Would be of great help probably, although it was originally designed to translate technical blueprints and scientific articles. )

ReplyDeleteSailor Moon live action was both horrible and ridiculous and seemingly everyone loved it in Japan.
Otherwise, who'd have thought Aria manga becomes anime one day? That was just as unlikely to happen!

ReplyDeleteI use a (really bad) english sub as a basic (for the timing only), and I usually translate from the subbed version I have (what is better, but hardsub). Most of the time I listen to the japanese speech as well; I don't really understand japanese, but after watching so much anime, I've picked up some words. Not to mention that the hungarian language have a similar "language style" as Keigo, so I've to translate the text "back" to that style.

No, just no. I love the real Venezia, but Neo-Venezia is more beautiful. And it has clear water.

Caith Sith is a youkai, and that shrine on the Japanese Island is actually the Hakurei Shrine. Thus this means, Akari accidently passed the barrier and was in Gensokyo when she met with the foxes. IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE!!!

ReplyDeleteon a side note, not totally unrelated, aqua volume 2 you have in the mediafire folder is not complete, Oishii-Manga scanlated "Othello Game" special navigation, and navigation 9 "Seeing a Hero!" and the other special "A Cold and Pudding" fron the GC Comics edition are yet to be scanlated.

There are no raws for the pudding chapter, as the only available scans were of the original print edition - also I doubt we'll go back to do those anyway, as TP has already released it.

ReplyDeleteJust spotted a continuity error in Aria classic anime ep. 02. When Alicia passes under the bride where the 10-year old Aika-chan sits, her blonde hair changes instantly from one plait to two plaits.
