  2. My favorite episode from the anime! Dekkai-chan at her best cuteness! Of course it's not that long as the anime version, and I love it how it's been developed into a full episode.

Writing too much flood posts nowadays, sorry I'll stop.

  6. Hello! I have a picture, probably from Aqua or an early Aria volume. It's a landscape, in full color, with Akari standing in the canal, holding a batch of sunflowers. There is a big, weird looking windmill in the background with a lot of sails and a long spike sticking out from the middle.

The problem is I only have this pic in small 300 pixel size and can't find it in any Aria/Aqua volume, even though I've checked most of the scans.

Maybe I'm lame and you know which manga has this in full size? Thanks!

  8. Wow, that was quick! Thanks!

BTW, do you think ipyo.net is gone? It had not been down for a week or so ...

  10. That's a pity, the community is losing Aria sources one by one, e.g. I used to use VEOH to watch Aria, but they banned most of the world by IP last summer.

That leaves me with an unanswered question. Someone nicknamed "tachiblue" had uploaded an extended version of the Aria the Animation series to Veoh. These episodes had an extra one-minute static music intro added, with a strange song and I just can't find out what that was.

(The subtitled versions I have archived on DVD do not contain this.)

A friend of Foxy's was actually the one hosting the site, and he can't get a hold of him. He tried putting it back up on his lolisuki domain but it was spammed with porn.
    tl;dr It's dead, Jim.

  12. Absolutely stunning. This almost tops the associated scene fromt the anime, although the song in that one raises it to even higher levels.

Amano also clearly has a thing for girls staring into each other's eyes. Hmm..

After this one I have become even more determined in my plans to marry Amano-sensei. All she has to do is draw for me every day. Of course I'd have to get her out of Japan, since we couldn't get married there. That might be a bad idea. Hmmm... the dilemma!

  15. Spending some time with Arietta nowadays, let me comment that Akari has a very much feline eye design in the OVA and Alicia's blue colured eyes seem to change hue according to her blood alchol level.

BTW, is there an Arietta manga done in retrospective or is it solely for animation?

  16. Mr. Thu probably should not be working from english scanlations! Vietnamese, chinese and japanese are closely related languages and cultures, even if modern vietnamese language uses a latin style alphabet.

Therefore if there is a need for intermediate language between japanese and vietnamese, the chinese scanlations might give a better basis for translation, with less loss of meaning expected. (Supposedly vietnamese people of higher education can still read chinese calligraphy even if its officially banned.)

Thu could get the raws and add vietnamese text based on the chinese project, using the english version as an aid if needed. After all Amanchu! deserves the best possible scanlations in any language!

  17. Japanese is totally unrelated to either Vietnamese or Chinese. Yes, Japanese writing incorporates Chinese characters, but their pronunciation and usage are often totally different. Translating from Japanese into either Vietnamese or Chinese therefore poses the same kind of troubles as into any other.

    Animation only.
